Last week’s appointment with the surgeon went as well as I hoped!
He declared that if he hadn’t done the surgery (himself) he would not know that
I had had a total hip replacement.
Ok there are still some “twinges” but they are negligible when compared with “before”
I am now permitted to drive my car,and in moderation,go back to Hydrotherapy, walking, whatever.
Monday I drove down to Sutton’s beach with the intent of resuming my walks along the waterfront: huh! I lasted about 100 yards before I needed a rest….so another 100 yards back to the car,and further along the beach where I sat in the sun, enjoyed watching a couple of tandem parachutists land on the beach, and smile at obviously southern tourists commenting on “how different the sun is in SEQ”.
Yesterday,Tuesday, I had my first session in the pool for nearly seven weeks. An hour of gentle supervised exercises……..boy! I slept well last night.
Back home I’ve pulled out my bin of felting wool and am preparing some squares for future works.
After some encouragement from Lotti & Duglan,I’m also back in the garden…..repotting and pruning.
Oh……I have also returned to tutoring ESL and it was great being back there with my students again.
LIFE is GOOD!
