The WILD ‘burbs

Let me set the scene!

I live in the bayside suburbs of northern  Brisbane (Queensland, Australia) on a pocket handkerchief block of about 460 square metres.

Most of the allottment is covered by my home…….but there is still room for a couple of Paw-paw trees (papayas, a lemon tree and some some plantings of herbs and draeceanas.

Lately my close to ripening pawpaws have been consumed by “someone/something”

Tonight we found the culprit!

A very healthy looking Brushy-tailed Possum!!

No photos as yet…………

I have no problem sharing my fruit with possums……..especially “Brushy tails”   smiles.

Bats/Flying foxes…………I’m not so comfortable with

Because they carry the “Hendra virus” which is dangerous to humans and horses.

Humans are encroaching on the natural habitat to a very significant degree………..I am happy to share my garden with the brushy tails……..

Need I say more!
