Tell me a story!

So often as I have liberated a postcard from my letterbox I have pondered on what type of story the card could tell if only it had a voice!
I received a card on Monday from a Postmark’dArt member, and on seeing the card’s reverse side, I was really intrigued:As it arrived

This is how the card arrived–with the yellow sticker showing an address, the senders name and address, and the receiver’s name.
You can see that it has even been marked RTS (Return to Sender)…..
The message of doom for any snail mail!
But………a fanfare of trumpets
Fanfare for modern man
and ENTER from stage left my hero/heroine, the Postal Pixie

Since 2005 I have received over 1000 fabric and fibre postcards from swappers in many countries. my uncommon family name
Add to that my uncommon family name….I am the only person
with that name in a local population of some 389,661 people, and I think myself very lucky that either the mail sorter recognised the name, or had the time, and interest to check my name against the electoral Rolls!!

Please find my home

Please find my home

I must also add that I had emailed the sender of the card, asking IF the card had been returned to her, and her answer was:
> It was some sweet postal pixie took care of both of us and made sure you got that. Please tell me your correct addie. Thanks. I am so happy you got the card and hope you enjoy it.

I’m sure you are like me and sometimes been less than happy with postal deliveries, but this time I really would like to thank the postal pixies that brought this card safely to its new home.

  1. Hooray for postal pixies.

Hope your day is going to plan. Take care.

  2. Yeah! Once again, all’s well that ends well.

  3. I’m so glad that this treasure made its way to you, what a nice story.
