Four down, two to go……

The second day of October and the deadline for Round 20 swap on Postmark’dArt is only 29 days away! The theme I chose is “hand stitching” and today I completed four of the six postcards I require for swapping. Despite the ideas and sketches I planned for this, my actual designs are fairly simplistic because of the time constraint.Nevertheless, I hope my swap partners like what I have stitched.2-Scan-002 3-Scan-003 These two cards feature fans that have been stitched using silk ribbon and stranded threads. The ribbon I had dyed myself using Ozecraft TURQUOISE. (Isn’t it great when you find “something” you bought years ago still works!) The “blades of the ribbon fan were anchored with seed beads, and a butterfly is hovering beneath each fan. Both cards were machine quilted: one in a square pattern, the other diamonds. Following the butterfly theme, I handstitched a floral spray on one card, and the other, featured grape leaves with bullion stitched buds. 1-Scan-001 1-Scan-004 My two remaining cards I have decided to use a cat theme. Time to return to stitching again. ‘Bye for now.

  1. These are lovely. Can’t wait to see the kitty ones. Thanks for sharing. Patsye
